NYSTEC Celebrates Giving Tuesday 2023

Back To Community Involvement

As November comes to a close, and we celebrate Giving Tuesday (November 28), NYSTECers kicked off the season of generosity and gratitude by turning to our core value of community to show our thanks and give back. The NYSTEC Community Involvement committee was hard at work again this year to help those most in need have a memorable Thanksgiving. A few efforts this past month include:

Schenectady City Mission

NYSTEC employees based in Albany purchased, donated, and delivered 56 pies to the Schenectady City Mission on November 21, which helped the City Mission support and feed hundreds of people on Thanksgiving.

South End Children’s Cafe

NYSTEC also purchased and donated 50 pies to the South End Children’s Café. The Café’s mission is to impact food security, address food equality and food justice, enhance academic success and positively influence the physical and mental health of children by offering free, healthy meals along with homework help, academic enrichment, mentoring, exercise, and the arts.

Rome Rescue Mission

NYSTEC employees from our headquarters in Rome, NY, donated $1,000 worth of Thanksgiving groceries and supplies to the Rome Rescue Mission. The team shopped for and purchased all the fixings to make complete holiday meals for the individuals and families that visit the Mission.
