On a beautiful fall day, NYSTEC joined hundreds of walkers, bikers and onlookers in person for the annual Hudson Valley Walk to help defeat ALS in Highland, NY. Festivities began at 11:00 am for the annual fundraiser, which included inspirational speeches from family members and even those currently living with this debilitating disease, to support people in the greater New York community with ALS and spread awareness of the urgency to find treatment and a cure.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need.
This is the fourth year NYSTEC has committed to generously support the Hudson Valley ALS walk and the combined total contribution from the NYSTEC sponsored team at this year’s event was over $1,000.
Thank you, NYSTEC!
