NYSTEC’s Administration Manager Cindy Hert was on hand in the Rome office to receive a certificate of appreciation from the Rome Chapter of the Wreaths Across America organization. The president of the local Rome Utica chapter of the Wreaths Across America, Greg Bertolini, stopped by to present NYSTEC with the certificate.
NYSTEC has a long history of donating to the annual Wreaths Across America Day event and honoring veterans at local cemeteries near our offices by participating in the laying of wreaths ceremony. In 2021, NYSTEC purchased 190 wreaths for the Wreaths Across America event in Rome, NY, along with 140 for the event in Albany.
The Wreaths Across America event was introduced in the greater Rome/Utica NY area 10 years ago and covers six local cemeteries.
Regarding NYSTEC’s dedication to the annual event, NYSTEC’s Administrative Manager Cindy Hert remarked, “NYSTEC has been one of the leading sponsors for Wreaths Across America in the Rome area and I have been involved in assisting on the day of the event for several years—once as the event MC, placing a military wreath in another year, and currently serving as the lead for the organization, labeling and placing all of the wreaths that family members have purchased.”
Each year, Wreaths Across America’s mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,100 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.
