NYSTECers and their families participated in fun-filled events such as the three-legged race, tug of war, dizzy bat, and a water balloon toss, all to benefit Special Olympics New York. Special Olympics is an international organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics New York (SONY), is the largest program in the United States and nearly the largest program in the world. SONY headquarters are located in Schenectady, with offices in the Long Island, New York City, Hudson Valley, Capital, Central, Genesee and Western Regions. NYSTEC was a listed sponsor on the website for the event and contributed over $1,600.
