NYSTEC Cares: Pride Month Event Sponsorship and Participation

Back To Community Involvement

June was Pride Month, and NYSTEC helped celebrate the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, asexual, pansexual, and allies (LGBTQIA+) community and the entire spectrum of gender fluidity and sexual identity.

NYSTEC sponsored two Albany, NY-based events: Capital PRIDE (June 12th) and the Say it Loud! Black & Latin@ Gay Pride community event (June 11th).

Capital PRIDE and the Capital Pride Parade and Festival vendors help benefit the critical programs and services of the Pride Center of the Capital Region. As the oldest continuously operating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) community center in the country, the Pride Center has worked to build a welcoming and empowering community for all people.

According to ABC News 10, the Capital Pride Parade and Festival event is attended by more than 25,000 people annually and is the northeast’s third-largest pride celebration, after New York City and Boston.

“NYSTEC’s participation in Capital Pride is a manifestation of our efforts towards inclusion that not only shows how we embrace diversity, but how we celebrate it,” said Kelly A., a NYSTEC principal consultant who was instrumental in leading the way for the company’s participation in Pride events this year.
