About the Senior Consultant – Senior Project Manager

As a project manager in the Modernization and Data Solutions practice area, you will support clients with the planning and implementation of health information technology. You will collaborate with team members to conceptualize, deliver, and support our clients through today’s ever-changing healthcare landscape. NYSTEC is considered a trusted advisor, providing subject matter expertise, and connecting the dots for our clients. NYSTEC has consulted on some of the largest Medicaid initiatives and served in various roles across a multitude of New York State healthcare technology systems.

Serving as a project manager, your day-to-day role as a NYSTEC consultant will include applying coordination, client and stakeholder engagement, project management, and problem-solving skills to our healthcare project(s).

Key Responsibilities: Senior Consultant – Project Manager

Overall, in the role of senior consultant – project manager, you will:

  • Determine and define project and task scope and objectives.
  • Develop implementation roadmaps.
  • Develop and execute stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Provide project updates relating to progress, risks, and any potential issues on a consistent basis to various stakeholders.
  • Organize action items, risks, and issues.
  • Use industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout project execution.
  • Update presentation materials and deliver presentations.
  • Assist with project quality management and vendor oversight.
  • Track and report on project timelines and progress.
  • Work closely with project team and stakeholders to ensure that key project milestones are achieved in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications: Senior Consultant – Project Manager

Candidates applying for the role of senior consultant – project manager should have the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:

  • Experience working with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH).
  • Experience working with Epic Systems’ electronic health record (EHR).
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively and be self-motivated.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to manage and develop key relationships with colleagues and clients through collaborative thinking and a strong customer focus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Senior Consultant – Project Manager
  • Experience working with EHR implementation projects.
  • Project management professional (PMP) certification.
Education and Experience: Senior Consultant – Project Manager

For the senior consultant – project manager role, candidates should have the following education/experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
