About the Consultant – Organizational Change Management Specialist Role
As an organizational change management (OCM) specialist, you will collaborate with team members to conceptualize, research, deliver, monitor, and support our clients, partners, and stakeholders through today’s ever-changing healthcare landscape. NYSTEC is considered a trusted advisor, providing subject matter expertise and connecting the dots for our clients.
Serving as an OCM specialist, you will develop and implement comprehensive change management plans by leveraging evidence-based methodologies and best practices. The OCM specialist will work with NYSTEC clients to assess stakeholder readiness for upcoming technology change initiatives, creating actionable deliverables to facilitate communication between the project team and stakeholders, leveraging a sponsor roadmap to coach sponsors through effective change management, and identifying areas of stakeholder resistance. As the OCM specialist you will engage with stakeholders to build project awareness and to ensure they are appropriately prepared for the change.
This role will involve focusing on changes to business processes, policies, and staff responsibilities and expectations. You will be expected to exhibit strong writing, documentation, communication, and presentation skills to meet project goals.
Key Responsibilities: Consultant – Organizational Change Management Specialist
Overall, in the role of consultant- organizational change management (OCM) specialist, you will:
- Leverage evidence-based change management processes and tools to create a strategy to support the adoption of changes required by a project or initiative.
- Apply a structured methodology to develop and lead the implementation of the change management plan.
- Consult and coach project sponsors to effectively facilitate change.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure that change management activities effectively meet the needs of stakeholders and the project team.
- Collaborate with clients to identify stakeholders, conduct impact analyses, and assess the change readiness of key stakeholders.
- Identify, analyze, prepare, execute, and monitor resistance management strategies.
Required Qualifications: Consultant – Organizational Change Management Specialist
Candidates applying for the role of consultant- organizational change management (OCM) specialist should have the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:
- A bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience. An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience in a field related to change management will be considered.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence people from different organizational levels.
- Ability to identify, research, and solve complex problems.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information with tact and diplomacy to a diverse stakeholder group.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications: Consultant – Organizational Change Management Specialist
It would be helpful for candidates applying for the consultant- organizational change management (OCM) specialist role to have the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:
- Master’s degree in business or a related change management discipline.
- Certification in organizational change management from an Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) Qualified Education Provider (QEP) or Prosci, Inc.
- Experience working in OCM, training, and communication management on NYS government technology initiatives.
- Experience with health IT or health information exchange.
- Knowledge of the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY).
