About the Business Development Coordinator

The business development coordinator collaborates across departments to conduct market research and help drive company growth. This position works with the business development team to attract new clients and to foster lasting relationships with key partners.

Key Responsibilities: Business Development Coordinator

Overall, in the role of business development coordinator, you will:

  • Support the business development team with drafting presentations, reference materials, and other documents, as required.
  • Conduct market research and collaborate with the business development manager about potential new clients.
  • Use the client relationship management (CRM) software to run reports, prepare analyses, and disseminate information for and to the marketing communications department.
  • Attend client meetings with the director of business development and/or business development managers to capture meeting notes and action items.
  • Coordinate meetings with client and the service delivery teams in furtherance of new client development.
  • Represent NYSTEC at select conferences and events.
  • Organize departmental off-sites, conferences, and events.
  • Develop relationships with NYSTEC business partners.
  • Work closely with employees across departments to implement growth strategies.
  • Interact with prospective clients (NYS agencies, local governments, other states, etc.) to ensure an understanding of NYSTEC service offerings and to develop new business opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You

Preferred Qualifications: Business Development Coordinator
  • State and local government entity expertise: This includes experience with large government contracts, including professional services contract terms and conditions.
  • Presents a professional and business-like image to clients, visitors, and the public.
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to work under pressure.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience using web browsers and Microsoft applications (Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint) or equivalent.
  • Familiar with Adobe Acrobat and CRM software.
Education and Experience: Business Development Coordinator

For the business development coordinator role, candidates should have the following education/experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or a related field and two years of relevant experience in business development or a similar field. An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
