NYSTEC founded IgniteU to help small businesses learn, grow, and create real-world applications of startup theories. Since 2015, the program has supported hundreds of local startups reach their full potential and evolved to include partnerships with nonprofits, academia, industry, and government to strengthen workforce and economic development statewide. Our role is to accelerate learning and connections that drive growth.

STEAM to Fellowship to Enterprise
Innovation starts early. Our STEAM programming brings students in grades 6-12, especially in communities historically underrepresented in STEAM careers, into hands-on arts-and-sciences learning that builds confidence, creative problem-solving skills, and visibility into future pathways. The goal: reduce systemic barriers and broaden the pool of future innovators across New York.

Public-sector buying power can transform a growing business — but procurement is complex. Through our close partnership with the Empire APEX Accelerator (formerly PTAC), companies receive confidential, free counseling to register, find bid matches, interpret solicitations, and pursue federal, state, and local government contracts.
