NYSTEC continued its tradition of laying wreaths honoring veterans at local cemeteries by participating in the National Wreaths Across America Day event. Several NYSTECers were on hand throughout the day (before, during and after a light snowfall), at the Gerald B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY to help carry and place the wreaths alongside Veteran’s tombstones and markers.
Each year, Wreaths Across America’s mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,100 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad.
NYSTECers who attended for the first time were truly moved by the ceremony honoring our fallen veterans and are looking forward to attending next year’s event. Some of the photos shown here were featured on the local CBS TV news show, Chime In – Albany.
