About the Senior Consultant – Database Designer

As a database designer, you will be assisting with programmatic initiatives for our clients, partners, and stakeholders, primarily through the application of strong Microsoft Access database design, development, and maintenance skills; critical thinking; and problem-solving skills. The Microsoft Access database will be used by the team to conduct compliance reviews, capturing input data, workflows and their statuses, and prepopulating emails and official documentation with information from the database.

Key Responsibilities: Senior Consultant – Database Designer

Overall, in the role of senior consultant – database designer, you will:

  • Design, develop, and implement user friendly Microsoft Access databases for team use.
  • Manage data and effectively document data processes in the databases.
  • Perform data quality verification checks to ensure the accuracy of reports and data.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve complex problems and needs using the database design.

About You

Required Qualifications: Senior Consultant – Database Designer

Candidates applying for the role of senior consultant – database designer should have the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:

  • Understanding of Microsoft Access database requirements.
  • Extensive experience creating and maintaining Microsoft Access databases and data.
  • Experience using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and Structured Query Language (SQL) in the creation and maintenance of Microsoft Access databases.
  • Strong business analytic and professional communication skills.
  • Working with and management of large, complex data sets.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with translating complex ideas into actionable insights for varied levels of audience.
  • Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders and understand their needs through excellent listening and effective written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications: Senior Consultant – Database Designer
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and/or healthcare data.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience performing data quality analysis to identify risks and opportunities in data quality.
  • Ability to work in a remote capacity, as well as in an office setting in Albany, NY.
Education and Experience: Senior Consultant – Database Designer

For the senior consultant – database designer role, candidates should have the following education/experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, or a related discipline and three years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
