About the Role:

As a junior business analyst with the Health Systems Transformation practice, you will collaborate with team members to conceptualize, deliver, and support our clients through today’s ever-changing healthcare landscape. NYSTEC is considered a trusted program advisor, providing subject matter expertise, and connecting the dots for our clients. Over the last five years, NYSTEC has consulted on some of the largest New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) initiatives and served in various roles across a multitude of New York State and New York City healthcare technology systems.

Serving as a business/data analyst, your day-to-day role will include engaging with stakeholders, writing and prioritizing requirements, researching policies and procedures to identify requirements, providing guidance on operationalizing policies and procedures, and serving as subject matter expert (SME) for the team, client, and stakeholders, as applicable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to propose and build solutions by conducting research, gathering requirements, and designing and developing resources to meet the client’s needs.
  • Lead onboarding planning and administrative tasks.
  • Create ad hoc written deliverables that meet the client’s and team’s needs.
  • Assess policies and procedures that facilitate the growth of the program to inform policy and program decision-makers.
  • Analyze and prioritize requirements and identify associated risks.
  • Take on new business-related tasks and deliverables, as appropriate.

About You:

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with administrative tasks.
  • Experience performing research and interpreting policies, procedures, and guidance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently to propose solutions for complex problems.
  • Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders and to understand their needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint).

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in a professional business environment.
  • Experience with Medicaid/Medicare policies and regulations.
  • Certified associate in project management (CAPM) certification preferred.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, health informatics, public health or related disciplines is required.
