About the Role:

The 21st Century Cures Act mandates that states implement electronic visit verification (EVV) for all Medicaid personal care services (PCS) and home health care services (HHCS) that require an in-home visit by a provider. EVV must verify the type of service performed, the individual receiving the service, the date of the service, the location of service delivery, the individual providing the service, and the time the service begins and ends. NYSTEC, in partnership with New York State Department of Health, performs compliance review activities for providers who are subject to EVV requirements, to validate that those providers are in compliance with the 21st Century Cures Act.

As a compliance lead, you will organize a compliance review team that supports our clients through today’s ever-changing healthcare landscape. Your day-to-day role as a NYSTEC consultant will include leadership and performing risk management, business analysis, quality assurance, critical thinking, and problem-solving activities to assist our healthcare clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision of compliance review team, including the assignment and tracking of compliance reviews.
  • Coordinate compliance review logistics, including scheduling and stakeholder communications.
  • Organize agendas and lead team/client meetings as needed.
  • Oversee the progress of compliance reviews and act as point-of-contact for internal and external compliance review team communications.
  • Coordinate the compliance review team to respond to ad hoc internal and external requests.
  • Implement ongoing quality control practices, including tool calibrations and other quality review oversight activities.
  • Coordinate with the project manager to ensure collaboration on program tools, processes, procedures, templates, and deliverables.
  • Organize staff onboarding and subject-matter training in collaboration with the project manager.

About You:

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with compliance reviews or audits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Exceptional customer service relationship techniques, including superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail in completing assigned tasks.
  • Experience in meeting deadlines and adhering to work standards.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a leadership role with responsibility for oversight of a team and/or project.
  • Knowledge of NYS Medicaid billing practices/systems.
  • Experience working with Electronic Medicaid of New York (eMedNY), Child Adolescent Needs and Strengths – NY (CANS-NY), the Uniform Assessment System of New York (UAS-NY), Medicaid Health Homes, Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MMCOs), or other related programs/systems.
  • Experience with NYS Medicaid billing, including the use of various electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Experience working with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), Office of Mental Health (OMH), Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), or Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS).

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare management, public policy, psychology, human services, or related field and two years of related experience as defined above. An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
