About the Role:

As a business analyst, you will collaborate with team members to conceptualize, deliver, and support our clients through today’s ever-changing landscape. Serving as a business analyst, your day-to-day role will include supporting the team in defining functional, nonfunctional, and technical specifications to meet business needs for the client; creating, reviewing, and maintaining artifacts; and working across the program teams to ensure that organizational standards are met across the enterprise.

This position will have the ability for a hybrid schedule of working remotely and in person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze as-is business processes and systems to establish to-be workflows and designs.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including subject matter experts (SMEs), executive teams, managers, program directors, and end users to ensure that projects meet business needs.
  • Coordinate policy discussions with client agencies and SMEs.
  • Conduct requirements gathering, validation, and rationalization processes.
  • Review deliverables from vendors to ensure that system planning, design, and delivery are in line with business needs, as described in the requirements.
  • Collaborate with team on requirements definition to ensure that system requirements align with client-related standards and strategy.
  • Evaluate project timelines and priorities.
  • Adhere to internal controls, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to the systems development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Proactively provide status of all project activities to management, including progress, issues, risks, mitigations, resolutions, successes, and lessons learned.
  • Develop a deep business and software understanding of the applications.

About You:

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience as a full-time business analyst.
  • Experience supporting requirements analysis, design, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, development and SDLC methods, such as waterfall, RUP, agile, and scrum.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, NYS and/or NYC government.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including exposure to Project and Visio.
  • A strong customer orientation, with active listening skills and the ability to understand and define/document business needs comprehensively.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of in-scope health and human services programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse stakeholder groups, executives, managers, SMEs, technical staff, consultants/contractors, and end users.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of related experience in a related field of study. An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
