Networking: Key Points

Standard Design Process
NYSTEC has adopted a modified version of the Cisco “Top-down” network-design process.  While we may customize our standard approach based on your specific needs, the process includes three basic phases:

• Inventory (discovery),
• Requirements development, and
• Network design.

Practical Network Designs Based on Underlying Business Needs
Our Top-down design process always starts out with a thorough review of the business goals and constraints.  This needs-driven approach ensures a more efficient and practical technological solution—as opposed to a solution based on bleeding-edge technologies that may be overvalued, overpriced, and unproven.

Wireline and Wireless Technologies
Our staff of network-engineering professionals is trained and certified on both wireline (copper, fiber optic) and wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Wi-MAX, CDMA, etc.).  We have developed advanced Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) designs consisting of fiber infrastructure typically provided by a service provider and wireless infrastructure typically purchased by the client.
